Low Profile, High Power
The BASS1200 is a low-profile amplified subwoofer. Low enough to easily fit below the seat of your car, this system offers you a quick and easy way to add a high-powered subwoofer system to your audio system.

The integrated amplifier in the BASS1200 features a low pass crossover and a subsonic filter, as well as a control for adjusting the input sensitivity from 0.2V to 6V. Both high level (speaker level) and low level (RCA type) inputs are present, making this a universal solution for use with any head unit or other input source.

For further flexibility in the use of a subwoofer, a variable bass boost control has been included. You can control the subwoofer level with the remote level control module.

I have owned and installed numerous stereo systems.

The good...
Size size size. this thing is small and I needed it to fit under the back seat in my pickup truck. It does that and it does add the sub bass I wanted. the install was easy and the remote gain level is a nice touch. It appears very durable and well built. Nothing flimsy on this unit.

the bad...
the sound quality does NOT compare with a box or bazooka. It just doesnt. If you have the space to put in a small box, do it. I put in a $50 Dual from walmart that sounds FAR better than this in my wifes Suburban. BUT, there is not that kind of room in my truck. Thats the tradeoff.

forget the outlandish power rating. This thing is 50 watts usable at most. Not sure on what planet they came up with the power rating.

The light on the remote gain is blindingly bright at night. Also, only the first 2-3 clicks on the gain seems to matter. After that, it is wide open. Still, it works and is MUCH easier than going through a touchscreen menu each time you want to turn the bass up or down.

verdict... for $100, it is a good compromise for a small cab where space is tight and you otherwise would not have a sub. The sound quality is mediocre. the remote gain is a nice feature. Overall, I would purchase again... but 4 stars is as overated as the power rating. I give it a 2 on sound, 4 on value, and 5 on size and ease of installation. Ordered the BOSS 8 ga install kit on Amazon to install this unit and it was easy. Would definately go that route again.

I bought the Psw10 on Amazon for about $100, and I am blown away by the value. I worked as a profesional home theater installer for about 5 years and sold many $400 subs that were no great than this. The 50 watt power rating is very conservative. Truth is, it's just an honest rating on a capability amp. I paired it with a run-of-the-mill Pioneer receiver and the Klipsch Quintet Ii speaker system. (also from Amazon $300)The end ensue for a $400 speaker ideas is amazing. For music and movies at low to slowly high volume, you could spend $2000 on a Bose ideas and not have sound this correct and dynamic. (My mom in law just did).
