Low Profile, High Power
The BASS1200 is a low-profile amplified subwoofer. Low enough to easily fit below the seat of your car, this system offers you a quick and easy way to add a high-powered subwoofer system to your audio system.
The integrated amplifier in the BASS1200 features a low pass crossover and a subsonic filter, as well as a control for adjusting the input sensitivity from 0.2V to 6V. Both high level (speaker level) and low level (RCA type) inputs are present, making this a universal solution for use with any head unit or other input source.
For further flexibility in the use of a subwoofer, a variable bass boost control has been included. You can control the subwoofer level with the remote level control module.

I have owned and installed numerous stereo systems.
The good...
Size size size. this thing is small and I needed it to fit under the back seat in my pickup truck. It does that and it does add the sub bass I wanted. the install was easy and the remote gain level is a nice touch. It appears very durable and well built. Nothing flimsy on this unit.
the bad...
the sound quality does NOT compare with a box or bazooka. It just doesnt. If you have the space to put in a small box, do it. I put in a $50 Dual from walmart that sounds FAR better than this in my wifes Suburban. BUT, there is not that kind of room in my truck. Thats the tradeoff.
forget the outlandish power rating. This thing is 50 watts usable at most. Not sure on what planet they came up with the power rating.
The light on the remote gain is blindingly bright at night. Also, only the first 2-3 clicks on the gain seems to matter. After that, it is wide open. Still, it works and is MUCH easier than going through a touchscreen menu each time you want to turn the bass up or down.
verdict... for $100, it is a good compromise for a small cab where space is tight and you otherwise would not have a sub. The sound quality is mediocre. the remote gain is a nice feature. Overall, I would purchase again... but 4 stars is as overated as the power rating. I give it a 2 on sound, 4 on value, and 5 on size and ease of installation. Ordered the BOSS 8 ga install kit on Amazon to install this unit and it was easy. Would definately go that route again.

The BASS1500 provides 1500 Watts of maximum power through its 10-inch super-slim woofer. Its low profile makes it ideal for mounting in all kinds of vehicles, even where space is at a premium.
High and Low Level Inputs

Bass Boost With Remote Level Control
The BASS1500 offers 0 to +12dB of variable bass boost, which you can adjust on the fly using the included remote level control.
Phase Selection
A phase selector switch (0 or 180 degrees) helps you prevent unwanted phasing between your sub and speakers, which can cancel out bass content.
Adjustable Input Sensitivity Selector
Match the input levels to the output levels from your receiver, with an adjustment range of 0.2V to 6V.
Subsonic and Low Pass Filters
The BASS1500 features a low pass filter (20-150Hz) for controlling the bass content to best match your system.
Trim the signal of unusable bass--below human hearing range and taxing to audio systems--for further efficiency with the Subsonic filter (20-50Hz).
Protection
The BASS1500 features green and red LED power status indicators, so you know when there's an issue. The soft delay remote power on prevents damaging pops. Thermal, short and overload protection circuits further protect the amplifier.

It's alright, but Don'T Push It! : Boss BASS1500 10 inch Low Profile Amplified Subwoofer with Remote Subwoofer Level Control
Just had my local sound shop setup the Boss Bass1500 behind the passenger seat of my '99 Miata. They'd put in an Alpine deck and amp powering Boston Acoustics separates, 6.5" mid-bass and 1" soft-dome tweeter, which sounded terrific but lacked low-end grunt. The Boss unit was the excellent clarification -- didn't take up very much room in what is a tiny car, and while it won't rattle your fillings the bass fill is just what I was searching for. Two caveats: Reviews for the previous model, the Bass1200, show that quite a few go bad. That is likely attributable to a) incorrect or improper premise -- most likely a power source other than right from the battery or poor grounding -- and/or b) citizen pushing the unit too far, so that the amp clips and dies. Run juice right from the battery and don't push the production so hard, and this heavy, solid-feeling unit should last quite some time. Best yet, if you want even more bass and have room under your seats but don't want a big sub box in your cabin (Suvs) or trunk, buy two, one under each seat, and you'll be slammin'! All in all, an excellent clarification to what I needed.
